"Too little attention is generally given to the preservation of health. It is far better to prevent disease than to know how to treat it when contracted. It is the duty of every person, for his own sake, and for the sake of humanity, to inform himself in regard to the laws of life and conscientiously to obey them. . .They should understand the functions of the various organs and the dependence of one upon another for the healthy action of all. . .and the laws by which they are governed." As the statement above, (written one-hundred years ago), so aptly points out--more attention ought to be paid to the prevention of disease (or the preservation of health), than on treating it. Truly, if we could learn this fundamental principle there would be less time required for treatment and more time available for enjoying the blessings of life and health. On these pages are the principles for preserving health and vigor--amazingly basic principles that, when applied faithfully, will also reverse disease.
